Portable Radio Stations

The RGS system uses standard radio stations Motorola GP320 (GP340) supplemented with a RGS-M module for security functions and controls.

This module provides these functions:

Guard Identification
For reasons of security against unauthorized use, each guard identifies himself after turning on the radio station by using a valid card on the module (where there is an integral card reader) after which he is entered into the system.

Logging into Checkpoints
By using the module on the checkpoint, information containing the identification of the checkpoint and radio station is sent to the central evaluation workstation.

Voice Communication
Two-way simplex communication between a guard and the operator at the central evaluation workstation, with recording of the conversation on the PC.

Overhearing
It is possible, independently of the operator of the radio station, to switch on the monitoring function and monitor the radio station’s surroundings, e.g. in the event of a security incident.

Movement Control
Monitors whether the radio station, and thus the guard, is constantly on the move. After a set time without movement, the system raises a pre-alarm and then after another pre set time, an alarm.

Position Control
Determines the position of the radio station and therefore the guard‘s position as well. When deviating by more than an acceptable value, a pre-alarm is raised after a set time followed by an alarm.

Emergency Call
Lets the guard send an appropriate signal to the central evaluation workstation during an emergency.

Loud and Silent Call
The system enables information to be sent to individual guards or groups using audible or optical signals.

All of the aforementioned functions are configurable from the software, even while the guard duty is in operation, thus without it being necessary to interrupt the guard‘s activities.
