System Description

The PERIDECT system detects vibrations in fencing with mechanical causes arising from attempts to gain entrance (climbing, cutting and lifting). Sensors placed along the fencing (usually one detector per one fence panel) are used for detection purposes. Each detector contains a piezoelectric element and the signal is processed by a microprocessor. The system uses differential logic to significantly reduce false alarms caused by normal weather conditions (rain and wind). The system detection level depends on each individual PDS detection sensor and each sensor can be allocated independent sensitivity parameters. The typical security offered by a single control unit is a line of approximately 1300m with penetration detection at 2.5m steps.

The PERIDECT system is completely automated with fully configurable characteristics and with alarm outputs that permit the PERIDECT system to be easily connected to all electronic security systems as a normal detector. Operational convenience and comfort can be increased by connecting it to visualisation software for integrating security and control systems such as C4. This then gives a graphical display of the secured area that includes the state of the individual components. In addition, the PERIDECT system is equipped with input/output modules that allow other equipment (e.g. contact detectors), anywhere along the perimeter, to be simply connected to the system and also other equipment can be controlled (e.g. lights).
